Double Dutch Espresso Information

If you're in the mood for a cozy spot to sip on a fantastic cup of coffee and enjoy a laid-back vibe, then Double Dutch Espresso on Frederick Douglass Boulevard should definitely be on your radar. This charming café, nestled in the heart of Harlem, offers an inviting atmosphere that’s perfect for everything from a casual coffee break to a full-on brunch with friends.

The moment you step inside, you’re greeted by the warm, inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The small but perfectly formed space is bright and airy, with quirky artwork on the walls and a modern yet cozy feel. Whether you’re in the mood to grab a quick espresso or settle in with a latte and a pastry, the ambiance is relaxed enough to make you want to stay longer than you planned. It's the kind of place where you can lose track of time, comfortably sipping your drink while watching the world go by outside.

The menu at Double Dutch Espresso is simple but full of options. They’ve got your classic coffee drinks, from americanos to cappuccinos, but it’s their specialty drinks that really stand out. The iced matcha latte is a fan favorite, with just the right balance of creamy and earthy flavors. If you’re looking for something more indulgent, their mochas are rich and satisfyingly sweet, hitting the spot without feeling overly sugary. But the real showstopper is their house blend coffee. If you love a strong, smooth cup of joe, you’ll definitely appreciate the carefully sourced beans they use here.

Aside from the drinks, the food menu is also worth a look. Their pastries are fresh, flaky, and absolutely delicious. The croissants are buttery and melt-in-your-mouth perfect, and their breakfast sandwiches are just the right size-hearty without being too heavy. If you’re craving something a little more filling, try the avocado toast, which comes with a generous topping of perfectly ripe avocado, a sprinkle of chili flakes, and a drizzle of olive oil. It’s simple, but done so well that you’ll find yourself coming back for more.

The service here is another highlight. The staff at Double Dutch Espresso are friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They take the time to explain the drinks if you’re not sure what to order and will make recommendations based on what you’re in the mood for. Whether it’s your first time or your tenth, you’ll always feel like a regular.

The location is ideal for anyone looking to explore the neighborhood or just take a break from the hustle and bustle. Situated on a quieter block of Frederick Douglass Blvd, it’s just a short walk from some of Harlem’s other iconic spots, making it a great place to stop for a pick-me-up during a day of exploring.

In all, Double Dutch Espresso offers a fantastic blend of great coffee, delicious food, and a relaxed atmosphere that makes it stand out in the heart of Harlem. It’s a place you’ll want to return to, whether you’re a coffee aficionado or just someone looking for a welcoming space to unwind.

What People's Say About Place

Great coffee and vibes. Quick service and taste profile was bold and smooth for a cap to go. I love the morning vibe of this place with local Harlemites grabbing a coffee and reading a paper. It also has a cute outside seating area.

The best service, the staff is professional and nice. A great place to work on a laptop. The coffee itself is excellent and so are the pastries. I highly recommend the place; Thank you very much friends.

This is one of the greatest coffee spots in the city I go and work when I am in the city. The food and coffee as well as pastries are all utmost delicious. It could be pretty hard to find a seat between 10 AM to 5 PM since there are a lot of people working at this cafe. During the summer time you can enjoy the back yard as well.

Double Dutch is such a gem in Harlem! My absolute favorite is their lavender latte — perfectly balanced and so flavorful. I’ve also spent a few days working from here, and the vibe is always amazing. The space is inviting, with a welcoming atmosphere, and they also have outdoor seating and a lovely patio, which is perfect for warmer days. Definitely one of my favorite coffee spots in the area!

This place is so wonderful! They were so accommodating of me and my service dog, the staff was so polite and the food was delicious. It's quiet enough that you can get work done but not so quiet that you feel like you can't have a conversation. Will definitely be back!

Very good coffee shop and owner, what a nice surprise. The coffee flavour and strength were mellow and balanced, kind of typical, but a good latte overall and a better one with vanilla. Nice selection of bakery products like the lemon cake or the almond croissant I had. The seating area takes you to the past with its old and characteristics style

Nice cafe for its historic, yet hipster setup and vibe. Alot of people come here to work and they have a bar side as well. Also some games like darts and light pastries. There are few outlets and the wifi is a bit shirt so can't stay too long and limited seating indoor but they have an outside igloo as well. I ordered a decaf americano and it was good. Not too roasted, good balance.

We live in the apartment upstairs and frequent this coffee shop a lot. A great space to grab a dope cup of coffee and the chef making the food is amazing. I would recommend the LOX bagel if you are out to treat yoself. The atmosphere is cozy and a great place for a solo working event with your computer or a date. Small and not a ton of room but perfect if you're looking for a nook to hide in for a few hours. Outside back patio too!
